5 Axis Tilted Waterjet Cutting System

Our 5 axis tilted waterjet cutting system adopts the 5 axis tilted cutting head with tolerance control, so that it can produce high-precision parts at a remarkably faster speed than the conventional waterjet cutting system. This patent system also utilizes a newly-developed sophisticated motioning system which can be used to control a set of fine moving joints mounted on the waterjet cutting head, so as to control its omni-directional tilt motion.

Each user wants to eliminate water stream lag and taper during cutting. In general, faster water jet cutting results in bigger taper and stream lag which may cause the geometrical deformation of a part being cut. Hence, the conventional water jet cutter reduces or eliminates the tolerance of a workpiece by slowing down the speed. However, our 5 axis tilted cutting head can tilt to any directions due to the mounted moving joints, so that it can ensure smooth cut while maintaining high speed cutting.

1. Due to the common two-dimensional programming software, such as CAD, Corel Draw, etc., the 5 axis tilted waterjet cutting system can automatically reduce the taper without additional programming and correction.
2. It can be used for counteracting taper, with the maximal taper of ±10°.

4. The water jet cutting head can automatically return to the position totally vertical to the workpiece for cutting.
